Took a sip

Some rough sketches (really rough!) of the things I'd like to make for myself for the upcoming Fall season... which (can you believe it?) starts next month. Eep! I'll be posting the garments as I work on them, but it's starting to get really busy for me with working the rest of summer, spending time with friends before they move away (one of my best friends is moving to Halifax!!), and mentally preparing for university. But it's all anxieties that some sketching and a great cup of tea won't soothe.

Hydrangea inspired bodice/corset designed & constructed by me

I went to see Katy Perry on Tuesday night & my besties and I made concert-worthy outfits. My outfit was the rosette covered bust bodice (pictured above). We were an arms length away from the stage and I got some amazing pics of Katy Perry that I'll be uploading soon! I want to know who her costume designer is. The outfits Katy wore were fan-freakin-tastic...

Une nuit a Paris

Pics from my Senior Prom. My prom inspiration was summed up in three words: mauve, grecian, and ballerina. I'm thrilled because in the end, I managed to finish my dress and everything else came together (except I didn't get to play with fabric flowers like I wanted to due to a time restraint)! Plus, I didn't end up flying to prom with my date like we thought we would... but I didn't mind too much ;)

My best friends (deeLau & Lazoo) with me @ Queen Elizabeth Park

Prom was called "Une nuit a Paris" and everything was themed with it.

Me and my handsome prom date (aka my best future rockstar friend!)

My best friend bought a pair of $20 black pumps & some crazy hardware glue & sparkled her own shoes! Anybody feel like the urge to grab a Toto and sigh 'there's no place like home' ? Way to go, Claudia!

Boyfriend & me :)

Delicious Red Velvet lollipop cupcake! More please!!!

And a few days before prom...

The last and final sketch before committed garment construction.

The above pics were taken 2 days before prom! Eep! I changed the skirt to 3 layers instead of 2 and in that process, eliminated the need for a fitted bodysuit underneath.

All in all, I wouldn't have changed anything about it.
